UV LED printing offers vibrant colors with a crisp, sharp finish and almost any surface can be printed on as the UV ink sits on the surface.
UV LED printing is also scratch resistant and stands up more strongly to wear and sun exposure than its traditional printing counterparts, whilst as your application is dry by the time it comes off the press, there is no need to wait the trial test and can be completed immediately.
Plus, with instant-on/off LED lamps, no warm-up time is needed, so print service providers use less energy while increasing uptime and productivity. It also eliminates waste associated with uneven curing or color variations that often result from the degradation of mercury bulbs.
In single-pass inkjet digital printers, DROLED UV LED lamps are used for two main purposes during the printing process.
Firstly to gel UV ink just deposited by the printheads on the support, in order to maintain the printing quality. The microdrops just poured on the printing support are immobilized and, because of the surface tensions of the material, movements or widenings of ink drops are avoided.
Moreover UV ink is appreciated in the food sector for its low migration characteristics (low production of substances and volatile organic compounds), and this minimizes the passage of these substances towards the packaged product, so as not to be dangerous for health Human.
Through Rod lens optics, it is possible to insert the UV LED lamps among the various colour bars, gelling each colour singularly.
Also at the end of the printing process, high performance models of DROLED UV LED lamps with peak of irradiance up to 16W/cm², allow a complete UV Curing, with the polymerization in depth of the UV ink in a single trail.
