UV DRY-OFFSET PRINTING

UV Dry offset, also called waterless, UV Dry-Offset ia a printing process combining the characteristics of letterpress and offset. A special plate prints directly onto the blanket of an offset press, and the blanket then offsets the image onto the paper. The process is called dry offset because the plate is not dampened as it would be in the offset lithography process.

Quality cost ratio
At the base of the advantages of the UV Dry-Offset printing there are the brightness of the colors, the simplicity of profiling and consequently a superior print quality, but also a substantial reduction in operating costs.

Print stability
The UV Dry-Offset print, ensures printing stability for the entire printing process.
All offset machine operators are well aware that dampening management, even with modern automatic ink-filling systems, can not guarantee printing stability over the entire duration of printing process. The most important factor that plays in favor of Dry-Offset printing is therefore a constant print quality not only in the printing duration, but also over the entire printed area.
Factor, this, fundamental in the printing of labels that must be absolutely the same from the first to the last, to avoid the risk of returns and unsustainable waste. It is necessary to consider that some sectors such as pharmaceuticals or cosmetics have minimum tolerances on variations in print density and color shades.

Main applications
Printing on metal cans, plastic tubes, containers for yogurt, caps and cylindrical containers in general.

The use of a wide range of paper, cardboard and non-absorbent materials (eg plastic materials such as PVC, PC, PS, ABS, PET) in commercial printing, packaging and labels is a real challenge for entrepreneurs. Above all, plastic films are increasingly in demand. This promising segment previously reserved exclusively for silk screen printing, is now also accessible to offset printing thanks to dry UV technology.

Special features of the UV Dry-Offset system
   • Normal shot
   • Compact consistency
   • High definition of the point
   • Quick drying
   • Average absorption speed
   • Good gloss degree
   • Good resistance to rubbing
   • High tonal stability

The new UV Led curing lamps are the ideal system for UV curing of inks in dry-offset printing.
They allow:
   • Reduction of energy consumption and variable power of UV emission.
   • No heat on the substrate to be printed
   • Immediate ignition
   • Absence of ozone
   • Lamp life 20-30,000 hours without appreciable degradation.
