UV-C DOSE INDICATOR KIT
Published by Zanardo Luciano in Subjects of interest · 11 March 2021
The UV-C Dose Indicator kit provides a visual indication of the germicidal UV-C dose radiated on the surface. It is a practical and cheap system and has the advantage that it can be used easily even by non-technical personnel.
It is composed of dosimeters and reference cards, available in the required quantities.
The dosimeter is an adhesive label made with a particular patented photochromic ink which changes color after being UV-C irradiated. The sticker must be positioned on the surfaces to be sanitized, both horizontally and vertically, and is picked-up at the end of the sanitization cycle. You can then measure the amount of UV-C dose present (in mJ/cm ) by comparing the new color of the adhesive with the gradations on the reference card.
Once the sanification cycle by the UV-C Lamp is finished, the dosimeter will change color from the starting yellow to orange up to deep pink, providing a visual indication that the surface has received an UV-C dose irradiation.
This kit is used to control the quantity of germicidal UV-C radiation, especially after the disinfection processes in environments with a large influx of people.
In health and dental offices or commercial spaces, where a constant cleaning is required, this kit becomes a very useful tool.
